is a movement to empower our communities with lifesaving training and knowledge relevant to emergencies specific to place.  We intend to initiate community-based efforts to activate civilians with the knowledge, skills and equipment to act as first responders to a variety of traumatic events.  Often, traumatic events are

life-threatening whether of a physical or psychological nature.  It is important that we have the skills in situations where immediate action is required; regardless of when help arrives.

Street Medix are volunteers who help provide care, such as first aid, in situations frequently neglected by traditional institutions – protests, disaster areas, under-served communities, and others. Unlike EMTs who work for state-sponsored institutions, Street Medix operate as civilians and are not protected from arrest.
